CASPOS is a point-of-sale system for professional services, built by Card Access Services. The POS agent from a gateway that has been doing this since 1987 and specialises in machines with nobody standing at them.

Card Access Services Pty Ltd has been helping businesses accept payments since 1987 and claims to have launched Australia's first online payment service. It is a Top Tier Level 1 service provider with ten Australian banking partners and the ability to connect to more than 80 banks worldwide, with operations running in Australia, Brunei and East Africa. The client logos are the kind you would expect from a gateway rather than a POS vendor: Alinta, Telstra Business, HBF, RACT, ANZ Stadium and Shangri-La Sydney.

CASPOS is their software agent for the counter. It installs directly onto an integrated POS system or runs in the cloud, talks to Ingenico IPP series pinpads to push payments to your acquiring bank, returns the result to the POS application, and logs transactions in the CAS merchant portal. One agent can drive one pinpad or many. The firm completed an integration to eftpos Australia in February 2023.

Where this company is genuinely different is unattended payments, which it calls itself a leading specialist in. Cashless vending, standalone kiosks and stored-value or NFC cards for closed user groups such as mining communities are core business, not a sideline — it partnered with On Track Innovations and Vend Access in 2016 to put NFC cashless readers and telemetry into Australian vending. If your sites are machines rather than staffed counters, that lineage matters more than the till software.
