Clear Enterprise is a point-of-sale system for retail, built by Clear Objective. A Brisbane ERP that won a million-dollar federal grant to go web-based back in 2004, and has gone very quiet since.

Clear Objective Pty Ltd has been registered since November 1999 and operates out of the Brisbane CBD — Australian, despite the product commonly being described as a New Zealand one; New Zealand is a customer market, not the home base. The company describes itself as the sole owner and developer of Clear Enterprise, a fully integrated ERP aimed at medium-sized businesses, with customers throughout Australia and New Zealand and over twenty years behind it. Alongside it sits CX pro for smaller businesses, covering inventory and financials with optional POS and ecommerce, across wholesale, retail, manufacturing and services.

The one solid piece of documented history is from November 2004, when it won an AusIndustry R&D Start grant of A$1 million to build a web-service-based ERP and accelerate commercialisation. Barry Amor was managing director and Don Fletcher CTO, and the company signed a US reseller agreement with NTE Software Services in Pennsylvania the same year.

Be realistic about what we could and could not confirm here, because it matters for a system that would run your stock and your ledger. The ABN is active, so the company is still trading. But both clearobjective.com.au and clearenterprise.com.au block automated reading, so nothing from the live site is verified. There is no published customer count, no named customer, no owner or parent, and no trade press coverage of any kind since 2004. Ask for current reference sites before you go near it.
