Dorsett Retail Systems is located in Adelaide, South Australia, and is the Australian distributor for Veryant's isCOBOL, a COBOL-to-Java runtime that lets long-lived COBOL business systems keep running on modern infrastructure. Its product is tracked in software directories as Dorsett CRMS, in the retail management category. That lineage is the most useful thing to know about it: this is a mature, back-office-heavy retail system of the kind that tends to run multi-store stock and ledger well and look dated at the counter, not a cloud POS startup.

A caution on identity, because the name is shared. A Dorsett Retail Pty Ltd, ABN 30 100 205 329, has been registered in Western Australia since May 2002 and runs a large appliance retail operation — it acquired a 22-year licence to exclusively franchise the Retravision brand in WA, SA and the NT in 2017, with around 25 stores and roughly $200 million of turnover in the network at the time, trading under names including Fridge & Washer City and Kitchen Head Quarters. Nothing published confirms that the Adelaide software business and that Western Australian retail group are the same company, so do not assume it. Ask directly who you are contracting with.
