Contrast One RIS — practice software and bank compatibility

Contrast One RIS is practice-management software for health and medical specialists. Radiology only, and it is a RIS and a PACS in one box — a different animal from a practice management system.

Contrast ONE is built by Contrast Imaging Solutions specifically for radiology organisations, and it combines two things most imaging businesses buy separately. The RIS runs bookings, worklists, reporting workflow and billing; the PACS stores and serves the images themselves. Putting both in one system is the pitch, and for a mid-sized private imaging practice it is a real one — the integration between a separately bought RIS and PACS is where a lot of imaging IT budget goes to die.

On payments, Tyro Health lists purchases, refunds, reports and multi-merchant. Multi-merchant is the significant one in imaging, where radiologists very commonly bill under separate entities from the practice company that owns the scanner, and each wants its own settlement. No Medicare Easyclaim or private health claim types appear on the listing — for bulk-billed imaging, claiming is normally handled through the RIS's own batch claiming rather than at a terminal, which fits, but it is worth confirming against how you actually bill.
