Convenience POS by FutureNet is a point-of-sale system for butchers and grocers and retail. A convenience and fuel specialist — it talks to Metcash, SPAR and Foodworks ordering and to POSTEC pump controllers, which is the test a generic till fails.

Tyro only. Tyro is its own middleware and its own acquirer, so this one comes with the bank attached — moving bank means a new integration.

Certified to do split bills and cash out. Tyro rates it a Premium partner — their top tier.

Future Net sells into one shape of business: the convenience store and its relatives — grocery, bakery, deli, liquor, cafe and the fuel station forecourt. The range runs Convenience POS at the counter in fixed, self-checkout and mobile form, Convenience Back Office behind it, and Convenience Controller for operators running several sites. Tyro lists it under retail and specifically butchers, grocers and supermarkets.

The integrations are what separate this from a general purpose till, and they are the reason to shortlist it. Supplier and warehouse ordering into Metcash, Campbells, ALM, SPAR and Foodworks. Scales from Wedderburn, Avery and Bizerba, including deli scales, plus Ilid electronic shelf labels. POSTEC pump management for fuel sites. Accounting out to Xero, MYOB, Quicken or ABCis EzyLink. If you are a Metcash-supplied store with a deli scale and four pumps, that list is the whole argument — most POS vendors cannot do any of it.

Through Tyro it handles cashout and split payments as well as the basics. Cashout is the feature convenience operators actually ask about first, since in a lot of strips the servo or the corner store is the nearest thing to an ATM.
