Creative Computing is a point-of-sale system for retail. Sydney-built multi-store retail software — though the product is actually called CONTROL, not this.
Certified on Linkly, running on premise. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.
The Linkly integration runs on premise.
Creative Computing runs out of 236 Pacific Highway, Crows Nest in Sydney, founded and still managed by Bernie Hogan, with development, implementation, support and sales all based locally. The product is CONTROL — a fully integrated retail and wholesale management system pulling point of sale, inventory control, purchasing and replenishment, web shopping and accounting into one thing, built for multi-store and multi-channel retailers rather than single sites.
The customer list is the useful part, because it tells you what the system is actually good at. TJM Products in 4WD accessories, Beds n Dreams, Bodyboarders Surf Co, G. W. Cox My Jeweller, The Furniture Spot, King Street Cyclery and Neeto. Vertical range rather than vertical depth — 4WD, bedding, surf, jewellery, furniture, cycling. One cited customer runs 15 stores across WA and Melbourne; another has been on CONTROL for eight years. Capterra also files it under jewellery store management, which fits the mix.
Two corrections to the record. 'Creative Computing' is the company, not the product — ask for CONTROL by name when you are getting quotes compared. And do not quote a founding year for them: Capterra says 1980 while the company's own About page says twenty-five years, and those cannot both be right. There are also two entirely unrelated Creative Computings, one in Oxford in the UK doing bookseller software and one in Atlanta, so check you are talking to the Crows Nest one.
