CukCuk POS is a point-of-sale system for bars and pubs, cafes, hospitality and restaurants. Vietnam's biggest business-software house is behind this one, and a US private equity firm owns a slice of it.
Tyro only. Tyro is its own middleware and its own acquirer, so this one comes with the bank attached — moving bank means a new integration.
It handles split bills.
CukCuk is a MISA product — MISA Joint Stock Company, founded in 1994 and headquartered in Hanoi. TA Associates took a minority stake in September 2019, at which point MISA had more than 1,500 staff across Hanoi, Da Nang, Buon Ma Thuot, Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho, with more than 70,000 government-sector clients and 100,000 SME clients. CukCuk sits in MISA's own product range alongside its accounting, e-invoicing and retail lines, and the App Store listing names MISA JSC as developer and copyright holder.
Scale depends on which of MISA's own sites you read. The English site claims more than 30,000 customers in more than 15 countries; the Vietnamese site says 50,000-plus brands and 25-plus countries. Pick a number and you are really just picking a site. Pricing is published and cheap by Australian standards, running roughly US$30 to US$75 per outlet per month on the global site, and the app ships in English, Khmer, German, Lao, Thai and Vietnamese. For an Australian venue the real question is support hours and who you call locally, because the product's centre of gravity is firmly Vietnam.
