DEAR POS — bank compatibility

DEAR POS is a point-of-sale system for general retail and retail, built by Cin7 Core. Sydney-built, bought by the Kiwis, and the product is now called Cin7 Core — the DEAR name is gone.
Certified on Linkly and on Tyro. Worth knowing the difference: Tyro is its own acquirer, so that route means banking with Tyro. The Linkly route does not.
Certified to do split bills. Tyro rates it a Power Up partner.
The Linkly integration runs in the cloud.
DEAR Systems was a Sydney inventory and manufacturing platform, strong on the manufacturing side and on a simpler interface than the enterprise tools it competed with. Cin7, founded by Danny Ing in Auckland, acquired it for cash alongside US-based Orderhive, taking the combined business past 6,000 product sellers.
Cin7 itself had been bought outright by US private equity firm Rubicon Technology Partners in October 2019 for $133.3 million, which is what funded the acquisitions. DEAR has since been rebranded Cin7 Core, so a merchant searching for support on DEAR POS is looking for a product that no longer carries that name.
That rename is the practical issue here. Documentation, integrations and partner listings are split across both names, and the payment integration is one of the things that gets stale in the shuffle — worth confirming the certification is current for the version you are actually on.
