Dentally from Henry Schein One is practice-management software for dental and health. Two UK founders built it in 2011, sold it to Henry Schein One in 2020, and it only properly landed in New Zealand in 2025.

Tyro only. Tyro is its own middleware and its own acquirer, so this one comes with the bank attached — moving bank means a new integration.

Tyro rates it a Premium partner — their top tier.

Dentally is cloud dental practice management software started in 2011 by Nick Davies and James Harker out of Gillingham, Kent in the UK. The reason it exists is a complaint its founders had about slow server-based systems, and it was built with dentists from the ground up rather than adapted from a legacy product.

Software of Excellence — the Henry Schein One subsidiary behind EXACT — acquired it on 8 July 2020, when Dentally had turned over roughly £1.5 million in the preceding twelve months. Both founders stayed on and the team joined Software of Excellence's 150-strong Gillingham workforce. So Dentally and EXACT are now stablemates under the same owner, sold to different kinds of practice: the cloud-native option and the established on-premise one.

It has scaled since. Dentally reports over 70,000 dental practitioners across the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Canada, rising past 80,000 after the New Zealand launch in 2025. For an Australian or New Zealand practice, the recency of that regional expansion is the thing to probe — ask how long the local claiming and terminal integrations have been in production here, not how many practitioners use it globally.
