Dynamics 365 Commerce POS — bank compatibility

Dynamics 365 Commerce POS is a point-of-sale system for retail, built by Microsoft. Microsoft's own retail register — the in-store end of Dynamics 365, aimed at mid-market and enterprise rather than the corner shop.
Certified on mx51, which is the engine behind several banks’ own terminal offerings rather than something a merchant buys by name.
The mx51 integration uses Spice and was last certified in February 2026, on Windows.
Dynamics 365 Commerce is Microsoft's omnichannel retail and B2B commerce platform, and the POS is its in-store component: processing sales and returns, searching inventory and engaging customers at the register, running in the cloud or at the edge so the lane keeps working when the link drops. Around it sit e-commerce, an API-first headless option, and the rest of the Dynamics 365 stack — supply chain, finance — which is the actual reason retailers choose it.
Microsoft is explicit that Commerce is aimed at midsized to large-enterprise customers and partners. The retailers it names as references are that size: Columbia Sportswear, Dr. Martens, Britax Römer, and the Australasian jeweller Michael Hill, which Microsoft cites for improved inventory allocation and increased sales.
One practical note. Dynamics is sold and implemented through partners rather than bought off a page, so the partner you pick is who you'll be dealing with on the EFTPOS integration, the certification and the support — and that varies far more than the software does.
