Enterprise Cash Receipting (ECR) is a point-of-sale system for education, government, health and professional services, built by Technology One. Part of Australia's biggest homegrown enterprise software company — the one that started in a demountable office in a Brisbane car park.

Certified on Linkly, running in the cloud or on premise. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.

The Linkly integration runs in the cloud or on premise. Linkly holds 2 separate certified builds for it, so what works depends which one you are on.

Enterprise Cash Receipting is a module of TechnologyOne's ERP, not a retail till. TechnologyOne was founded in Brisbane in 1987 by Adrian Di Marco, who ran the first R&D centre out of a demountable in a car park at Hemmant. It listed on the ASX in 1999 and is now one of the largest software companies the country has produced: A$515.4 million revenue and A$118 million net profit in 2024, about 1,500 staff, and more than 1,200 customer organisations across Australia, New Zealand and the UK.

The customers are councils, universities and government departments, and that shapes what cash receipting means here. It is the counter where a ratepayer pays their rates notice, a resident pays an infringement, or a student pays a fee — payments that have to land against the right account in the finance ledger, not just ring up a sale. The company has grown partly by acquisition in exactly these niches, buying ProClaim, Avand, ICON Software, Digital Mapping Solutions, Jeff Roorda & Associates and, more recently, the UK's Scientia and Australia's CourseLoop.

Practical upshot for a merchant: you do not choose TechnologyOne because you want a good POS. You are on it because your organisation runs TechnologyOne for finance, and the receipting counter has to talk to it. The EFTPOS question is about which terminals integrate with that module, not about switching POS.
