Enterprise is a point-of-sale system for retail, built by HansaWorld Australia. A Swedish accounting program for Apple machines that turned into a 100-country ERP — and 'Enterprise' is the old name for it.
Certified on Linkly, running on premise. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.
The Linkly integration runs on premise.
HansaWorld started in Sweden in 1988 as an accounting program written for Apple computers. The UK entity tells the rest of the story on its own: incorporated 1 May 1998 as Baltic Business Software Limited, renamed HansaWorld Limited in January 2003, then HansaWorld UK Limited in February 2004. By 2005 it was running out of London under managing director Stephen Jay, and the product had been renamed HansaWorld Enterprise about six months before the company itself took the HansaWorld name.
'Enterprise' is historic. The current line is Standard ERP, with Standard Accounts, Standard CRM, Standard Hotel, Standard Eats and Standard POS beside it, and it is genuinely maintained — releases were still shipping through 2025. Trade coverage from 2014 put the company in more than 100 countries with around 300 staff and the Enterprise ERP in over 70,000 companies, but those are vendor figures from a decade ago and the current site gives no numbers at all, just 'over 40 languages' and 'thousands of companies'.
In Australia and New Zealand it is small, and that is the practical point. The 2025 ERP buyer's guide lists HansaWorld Australia Pty Ltd in Sydney and HansaWorld New Zealand Ltd in Christchurch with fewer than 50 installed sites across both countries, targeting businesses from about A$1 million turnover up. Reference customers given are the GJ Johnson Group, Airtec, Marine Plant Systems and the ANZ Staff Club. A small local footprint means a small local support bench, which is worth asking about before you sign.
