Exact from Henry Schein One is practice-management software for dental and health. A New Zealand product from 1988 that became Henry Schein's dental software in 2007 — most practices running it have no idea it started in Auckland.
Tyro only. Tyro is its own middleware and its own acquirer, so this one comes with the bank attached — moving bank means a new integration.
Certified to do HealthPoint private health claiming and Medicare bulk billing. Tyro rates it a Premium partner — their top tier.
EXACT began life as Software of Excellence, established in New Zealand in 1988 serving local dental practices. It went into the UK in 1994, hit 1,000 UK customers by 2002, and by 2009 was the market leader there with over 4,500 dental practice customers. It became part of Henry Schein in 2007 and now sits inside the Henry Schein One portfolio.
Today it operates across Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Ireland, with Australian operations run from South Yarra in Melbourne, and markets itself here as Australia's number one dental practice software. It added a customer success program in 2016 and AI capability through the Second Opinion by Pearl integration across 2023-24. Henry Schein One also owns Dentally and Oasis in this market, which means one owner holds three of the dental systems a practice might be choosing between.
Henry Schein itself is a Fortune 500 company operating in 33 countries and serving more than a million customers. That scale cuts both ways for a practice: the integrations get maintained, but local priorities compete with everything else in the group. On the terminal question, EXACT has a documented Tyro Health integration for claiming — confirm what else is certified for your version before assuming.
Health claiming at the terminal
Certified through Tyro for Medicare Easyclaim — bulk bill, Rebate estimate, Tyro HealthPoint. Tyro is its own acquirer, so claiming through the terminal means banking with Tyro.
Connected through
A POS reaches a bank through middleware. Each card below is one certified route; the banks it reaches are on the middleware page.
