FlexiPOS by Flexischools is a point-of-sale system for education and professional services, built by InLoop t/a Flexischools. Started by the people running a Sydney school canteen in 2008, and it is now in more than 2,100 schools.

Certified on Linkly, running in the cloud. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.

The Linkly integration runs in the cloud.

Flexischools began the most practical way possible: the founding team ran the canteen at a Sydney high school and built the ordering system they needed. It launched in its first school in 2008 and now works with more than 2,100 schools across Australia. The service covers canteen ordering, uniform shops and events, with cashless payment for parents through the app.

The company trades as Flexischools but the operating entity is InLoop Pty Ltd, and it describes itself as part of the InLoop group — an Australian business investing in technology, data and payment solutions. Stephen Austen is named as a co-founder. The team has been building the technology for over 15 years.

The POS side of this is a different animal to a cafe till. A school canteen takes most of its orders in advance through the app, then runs a counter at recess and lunch for the rest, with volunteer staff who turn over constantly. That shapes what matters: simple screens, fast settlement, and a terminal that a parent helper can use without training. Worth factoring in when you are comparing EFTPOS arrangements.
