Futura4Retail is a point-of-sale system for fashion and apparel and retail. A Hamburg fashion system dating to 1975, owned by a Berlin private equity firm, and a long way from an Australian-built till.

Tyro only. Tyro is its own middleware and its own acquirer, so this one comes with the bank attached — moving bank means a new integration.

Tyro rates it a Power Up partner.

Futura4Retail is the ERP from Futura Retail Solutions AG, headquartered in Hamburg and founded in 1975 — which makes it one of the oldest retail software businesses you will come across anywhere. The family is Futura4Retail for the back office, Futura4POS for the till itself, and Futura4SalesAssistant as a tablet tool that links shop floor processes to the online store. It is a fashion and lifestyle retail system first, built around omni-channel selling off one set of data.

Ownership moved in July 2018, when Elvaston, an entrepreneur-led Berlin private equity firm focused on mid-market technology in German-speaking markets, invested and left Futura's management running it. There is no public record of a change since.

Which leaves the practical question for an Australian retailer: you are buying a German platform, so support hours, local payment certification and the size of the local partner bench all matter more than they would with a domestic vendor. The good news is the certification exists — Tyro has it at Power Up tier, tagged for fashion and apparel — so the path to an Australian bank terminal is a supported one rather than a custom job.

Connected through

A POS reaches a bank through middleware. Each card below is one certified route; the banks it reaches are on the middleware page.
