This is a kiosk application for a pathology service, not a retail or hospitality system: check-in and payment for a traveller taking a pre-departure COVID test. Histopath Diagnostic Specialists ran the operation.

The history is worth having straight. Histopath first set up an on-the-spot clinic at Sydney Airport in December 2020, at the request of the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District, then opened a dedicated facility across the road from T1 international departures in November 2021. Over its life it swabbed more than 500,000 passengers by PCR or RAT. April 2022 was the peak month at almost 60,000; the busiest days ran past 2,500 people; the highest positive rate was 5% in January 2022; and at its peak more than 40 nurses, laboratory staff and liaisons worked the clinic.

It closed on 6 June 2023, after airlines and most countries dropped testing requirements and China ended mandatory testing in April that year.
