Horizon POS — bank compatibility

Horizon is a point-of-sale system for entertainment and leisure, built by Accesso Technology Group. A Milan-built ticketing platform that an AIM-listed British group bought in 2023 and renamed.

accesso Horizon is not an accesso original. It is the VGS platform — VGS was founded in 2011 by Paolo Moro, with offices in Milan, Dubai, Singapore and Orlando, and ran ticketing and visitor management for more than 100 venues across 11 countries including theme parks, zoos and observation towers. accesso announced the acquisition on 20 June 2023 for total cash consideration of US$52.6 million, a net purchase price of US$38.5 million after VGS's cash reserves, and rebranded the platform as accesso Horizon. All 33 VGS staff came across.

accesso Technology Group itself trades on London's AIM as ACSO, out of Twyford in Berkshire, and has been listed since admission on 24 April 2002 — originally as Lo-Q plc, renamed accesso in November 2013. It serves over 1,200 venues in 34 countries with around 700 staff, and its Passport product processes close to 100 million tickets and reservations a year. Post-acquisition, Horizon was picked for 21 entertainment destinations by Saudi Entertainment Ventures.

The Australian connection is accesso's long-running relationship with Village Roadshow Theme Parks on the Gold Coast — a five-year extension to 2027 with an option to 2029 announced in September 2022, covering Movie World, Wet'n'Wild, Sea World, Australian Outback Spectacular and Paradise Country. That contract runs on accesso Passport and LoQueue rather than Horizon, so do not assume a local Horizon reference site exists.
