HRS Payment Gateway — payment connector

Payment connector by HOSPITALITY AND RETAIL SYSTEMS · All point-of-sale systems

  • hospitality

HRS Payment Gateway is not a point-of-sale system — it is the payment connector that joins a point-of-sale system to the terminal, through Linkly. Built by HOSPITALITY AND RETAIL SYSTEMS. The payment module from Oracle Hospitality's biggest partner worldwide — a company founded by a British entrepreneur in 1990 and now headquartered in Düsseldorf.

Worth being clear about what this is, because the directories list it alongside the tills: you do not buy this instead of a point-of-sale system, you buy it to connect one you already have.

This is a gateway, not a POS. HRS builds, implements and supports hospitality systems — overwhelmingly Oracle's — and this module is the piece that joins the property or restaurant system to the payment terminal. The till you're actually running is almost certainly an Oracle Hospitality product, and HRS is the integrator standing behind it.

HRS (Hospitality and Retail Systems) was established in 1990 by British entrepreneur Joanne Vaughan. It is a Platinum Partner of Oracle Hospitality — formerly Micros-Fidelio — and describes itself as Oracle Hospitality's largest partner worldwide by countries covered, customers and employees. Headquarters is Düsseldorf. By 2018 it was operating in 39 countries with more than 1,800 hotels on its books; today it reports supporting customers in 90 countries and over 11,000 customers in total.

The practical point for an Australian venue: this is an international implementation partner rather than a local software house, so the question to ask is who holds your support contract and in which time zone they sit.
