iCell POS — bank compatibility

iCell is a point-of-sale system for accommodation, bars and pubs and hospitality, built by Finchcorp. Family-owned out of Eagle Farm in Brisbane, with thirty-odd years behind it.

It is certified on all three middleware layers that matter here — Linkly, mx51 and Tyro. Eighteen of the 1,127 systems on this site manage that, which leaves your choice of bank about as open as it gets.

It handles tipping, cash out, phone and mail order and surcharging.

The Linkly integration runs on premise. The mx51 integration uses Spice and was last certified in February 2022, on Windows.

iCell is Finchcorp Technologies' point of sale application. Finchcorp is a family-owned software development business at Harvey Street North in Eagle Farm, Brisbane, with over three decades behind it and, by its own count, more than 1,000 customers worldwide. It writes for hospitality, with a stated emphasis on retail liquor stock control, and serves retail, convenience, FMCG and food and beverage.

That liquor stock control focus is the useful signal. Bottle shops and venues with a packaged-liquor arm have a problem most hospitality POS handles badly: the same product sold by the bottle, the carton and the glass, with different margins and different stocktake units. A vendor that names it as a specialty has usually had to solve it.

Around iCell they sell the rest of the venue stack themselves rather than through third parties — kitchen monitors, live sales dashboards, loyalty and membership, digital menu boards, self-order kiosks, and MyBistro for order-at-table. Support is quoted at 16 hours a day, seven days a week, which is honest of them: it is not 24/7, so check it covers your closing time.
