ICRTouch POS — bank compatibility

ICRTouch is a point-of-sale system for bars and pubs, cafes, hospitality and restaurants. An Isle of Wight cash register shop that turned into 180,000 terminals, and is still owned by one bloke.

Tyro only. Tyro is its own middleware and its own acquirer, so this one comes with the bank attached — moving bank means a new integration.

It handles bar tabs and cash out.

ICRTouch sits in Sandown on the Isle of Wight, and its roots trace back to the 1980s supplying, installing and maintaining cash registers — the Companies House trail still carries the old name, Island Cash Registers, which is where the ICR comes from. TouchPoint, the flagship EPOS product, was first released in 1999 and began as a small project for local Isle of Wight businesses. ETAL, the scripting language that lets partners customise installations, arrived in 2010.

The scale is the surprise. ICRTouch reports over 150,000 installs of TouchPoint in the UK alone and more than 180,000 terminals worldwide, across a product family that includes TouchPoint Lite, TouchOffice Web, ByTable, PocketTouch, TouchReservation, TouchKitchen, SelfService, TouchTakeaway and TouchStock. It is strongest in UK hospitality — pubs and bars — and is a member of UKHospitality, the BII and CAMRA.

It sells entirely indirectly: no direct sales team at all, only an authorised partner network of local independent businesses that sell, install and support the product, with partners listed across England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Denmark, the Canaries and New Zealand. Ownership has stayed put — Colin Ringer has been the controlling shareholder since at least 2016, and a 2025 restructure into a holding company he also controls changed nothing about who owns it. No private equity, which in this directory makes it unusual.
