IdealPOS is a point-of-sale system for accommodation, bars and pubs, butchers and grocers and cafes, and 4 more. Brisbane-run, past 10,000 customers across seven countries, and since 2023 part of the Oolio group.

Certified on mx51 and on Tyro. Worth knowing the difference: Tyro is its own acquirer, so that route means banking with Tyro. The mx51 route does not.

It handles pay at table, split bills, tipping, bar tabs and phone and mail order, plus 1 other capability. Tyro rates it a Premium partner — their top tier.

The mx51 integration uses SPI .NET and was last certified in March 2021, on Windows.

Idealpos is headquartered in Brisbane and reports more than 10,000 customers across seven countries off a team of around 30. Mark Beeley is CEO. It has always played the broad hand — accommodation, hospitality and retail on the one platform — rather than specialising the way a Deliverit or a SwiftPOS does.

The ownership changed and the branding did not. Idealpos is now one of five POS brands under Oolio, the group Pemba Capital built by merging Bepoz with MSL Solutions in 2023 after taking MSL off the ASX in a $120 million deal. Its stablemates are Bepoz, SwiftPOS, Deliverit and OrderMate, and between them Oolio claims over 22,000 venues. Worth knowing if you are comparing quotes: two of those quotes may be the same company.
