Indigo8 iPad POS — bank compatibility

Indigo8 iPad POS is a point-of-sale system for fashion and apparel and retail. The iPad half of Indigo8's apparel platform, and its release notes are the clearest public record of which terminals it drives.

Tyro only. Tyro is its own middleware and its own acquirer, so this one comes with the bank attached — moving bank means a new integration.

Certified for split bills.

Same vendor as Indigo8's main platform: Indigo8 Australia Pty Ltd, ABN 23 138 651 635, of Brighton in Melbourne, whose software began in 2003 as in-house systems for a large American apparel business and was bought out by three employees in 2004 when that business was sold. The iPad POS ships in ENTERPRISE and LITE editions. The Enterprise app is actively maintained and sold by Indigo8 Australia Pty Ltd, requires iPadOS 16 or later and also runs on Apple silicon Macs. Tyro lists Indigo8 iPad POS as an official POS partner, covering purchases, receipts, refunds and split payments.

At the counter it does layby with repayments, gift receipts, click and collect, scan-based inter-store transfers, stocktake, manager-PIN gating on returns and price overrides, end of day with cash denomination counts, a start of day report, per-line staff discounts, Shopify gift card, store credit and discount sync, Omneo loyalty, AirPrint and emailed HTML receipts, and shipping-label printing straight from the POS through StarShipit and Shippit. On payments the app's own release notes are the most reliable source available: it supports Tyro, Windcave (formerly Payment Express) and Linkly Cloud, the last added in February 2024, and later versions save and print the last four card digits for Tyro and Windcave. One thing to understand before shortlisting it — this POS sits inside a full apparel ERP priced from A$2,000 a month, so it is not sold as a standalone till.
