InfoGenesis POS — bank compatibility

InfoGenesis is a point-of-sale system for accommodation and hospitality, built by Agilysys. A Santa Barbara casino POS that Agilysys paid US$90 million cash for in 2007.
Certified on Linkly and on Tyro. Worth knowing the difference: Tyro is its own acquirer, so that route means banking with Tyro. The Linkly route does not.
The integration covers pay at table, split bills and cash out. Tyro rates it a Plus partner.
The Linkly integration runs in the cloud or on premise. Linkly holds 2 separate certified builds for it, so what works depends which one you are on.
InfoGenesis is not an Australian product and never was. It was a Santa Barbara, California POS company with a support centre in Las Vegas, selling into casinos, hotels, resorts, cruise lines, stadiums and restaurants. Agilysys bought it outright on 11 June 2007 for US$90 million in cash — funded from the US$485 million Agilysys got for selling its IT distribution business to Arrow Electronics that January. At the time InfoGenesis was turning over about US$42 million with US$7 million of EBITDA and 170 staff.
Two decades on it is still the POS you find in big gaming and resort venues, and Agilysys has kept buying around it in that vertical. For an Australian merchant the implication is scale: this is enterprise hospitality software priced and implemented for integrated resorts, large hotels and clubs with multiple revenue centres, not for a single venue. If you are being quoted InfoGenesis, you are in a tender, not a sale.
Agilysys chairman and CEO Arthur Rhein framed it at the time as keeping "with our strategy to acquire companies with differentiated value", and the point of the deal was portfolio: property management, POS, inventory, procurement, golf and spa under one roof. That is still the shape of an Agilysys sale today — you are buying into a suite, not a till.
