IT Visions POS — bank compatibility

IT Visions is a point-of-sale system for retail. an Australian retail software company that, by its own About page, is part of Constellation Software.

Certified on mx51, which is the engine behind several banks’ own terminal offerings rather than something a merchant buys by name.

It handles phone and mail order and surcharging.

The mx51 integration uses Spice and was last certified in August 2021, on Windows.

IT Visions sells cloud-based, customisable retail and wholesale software to multi-store operators — point of sale, head office, back office, omnichannel and integrations. The verticals it names are mobility hire and sales, discount variety, fashion and footwear, wholesale distribution and ecommerce. Developed in Australia, with onshore support across Australia and New Zealand.

The ownership is the interesting bit, and IT Visions states it plainly on its About page: it is part of Constellation Software through Vela APX. Vela Software Group describes itself as an operating group of Constellation Software Inc., and Vela APX says it owns more than 30 mission-critical vertical market software businesses. The Australian and New Zealand names on that list include Sympac, Tower Systems, Triquestra, Markinson, Apparel21, Independent Solutions, Beacon, Qdos, Fresh Computer Systems, Foresiight and Surefire Systems.

IT Visions has also come together with Surefire Systems, which builds retail and back-office software for medium to large multi-store retailers. The companies describe it as a merger. The combined offer covers enterprise point of sale, head and back office, self-checkout and mobile in-store, and analytics and business intelligence, across grocery, liquor, specialty, outdoor, fabric and variety retail. Both are still listed separately in Vela APX's portfolio.
