iVend POS is a point-of-sale system for fashion and apparel, general retail, gifts and homeware and retail, and 1 more. The till end of an SAP-centric retail suite, sold in Australia through certified partners rather than direct.

Tyro only. Tyro is its own middleware and its own acquirer, so this one comes with the bank attached — moving bank means a new integration.

iVend Retail is the product of CitiXsys, a company headquartered in New York with its R&D centre in New Delhi. By February 2010 it already had offices in Toronto, London, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth and was describing itself as one of SAP's largest software solution partners, with strategic SAP alliances in the US, UK, Australia and India. That SAP relationship is the heart of it: iVend Retail 5.0 shipped built to integrate with SAP Business One 8.8, ahead of that version's general availability.

The integration list has widened a lot since — SAP Business One, S/4HANA, ECC 6.0 and IS-Retail, plus Sage 300cloud and X3, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Magento Commerce. The platform is used in more than 90 countries and sold through certified partners rather than direct, with 'Rockstar ISV' status across the SAP, Microsoft and Sage programs.

On the money: CitiXsys closed a US$60 million financing led by Goldman Sachs Merchant Banking in November 2019, with Kamal Karmakar as CEO at the time. Neither the founding year nor the current ownership is published on the company's own pages, and the branding is now product-forward — the site is ivend.com, copyrighted iVend Retail, while the US legal entity is still CitiXsys Americas, Inc. An Australian merchant should treat this as an SAP ecosystem product sold via a partner, and get the name of the partner that actually supports the till.
