Jacro PosPay is a point-of-sale system for entertainment and leisure, built by Jack Roe (CS). A cinema supplies business incorporated in 1942, still in the same family, and still writing the software itself.

Jack Roe (C.S.) Limited was incorporated on 3 December 1942 — the CS stands for Cinema Supplies, which was the company's name until 1985 — and operates from the Alton Road Industrial Estate in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire. The company says it has supplied cinema products since 1929 and has been building custom IT systems for 30-plus years, with over 85 years in the cinema industry. There is also a Jack Roe USA operation.

What it sells is a turnkey cinema IT system: ticketing and point of sale under the TaPoS name, concessions, digital signage, loyalty and gift card programmes, and iPhone and Android cinema apps. It can be bought as an all-in-one system or as add-on modules bolted onto a cinema already running someone else's ticketing software, with remote monitoring and automated upgrades. Alongside the software it still sells physical booth and cinema supplies, including its patented T-Stripe splicing tape — which tells you something about how long it has been in this business.

Ownership has never left the family. Jack Roe Limited holds the operating company; Brian and Juliet Roe, directors since 1996, both resigned on 12 April 2022, the same date Alan Stafford Roe was notified as the controlling shareholder alongside a share buyback. No trade sale, no private equity — a generational handover. In a directory full of acquired brands, that is worth noting.
