Jensen POS is a point-of-sale system for hospitality, built by Jensen Data. a Sydney hospitality POS outfit that has been trading since 1980 and lives mostly in clubs and pubs.
Certified on mx51, which is the engine behind several banks’ own terminal offerings rather than something a merchant buys by name.
The integration covers tipping and surcharging.
The mx51 integration uses SPI JavaScript and was last certified in July 2022, on Windows.
Jensen Data Systems calls itself Australia's leading hospitality POS provider since 1980, and runs out of Norwest in Sydney's north-west. Its exhibitor listing at the Australasian Gaming Expo puts it at hundreds of venues across New South Wales and Victoria, including a 12-year relationship with RSL Victoria and several large hotel groups. Sectors named are pubs, clubs, bars, restaurants and cafes.
It is more than a till. The listing covers POS technology, integration services and custom software, cloud-based membership platforms and custom integrations with third-party ordering systems, spanning front-of-house ordering, reporting and kitchen workflow. Membership platforms are the giveaway — that is a licensed club requirement, not a cafe one.
Two of the company's own numbers do not quite line up: the website says since 1980, the expo listing says more than 25 years of industry experience. Either way it is one of the longest-running names in Australian hospitality POS, and it has stayed quiet about it — no ownership announcements, no funding news, no trade coverage beyond the expo.
