LS One by Microchannel is a point-of-sale system for general retail and retail. The company that implements it was bought by Fujifilm in 2023 and renamed — so the partner on your contract may not be the partner you signed with.

Tyro only. Tyro is its own middleware and its own acquirer, so this one comes with the bank attached — moving bank means a new integration.

The integration covers split bills. Tyro rates it a Plus partner.

Two companies matter here, and they are easy to conflate. LS One is the product: LS Retail's lighter point of sale and back office, pitched as "all the POS essentials, none of the complexity" and positioned below LS Central, the flagship platform built for multi-store chains running enterprise ERP. LS One covers retail and hospitality sales, payments and promotions, mobile POS, inventory and a back office, with an integration framework to connect out to ecommerce, ERP or accounting — so you get professional functionality without an ERP sitting underneath it.

MicroChannel is the Australian company that implements it, and its ownership has changed. FUJIFILM Business Innovation announced its acquisition of MicroChannel Services Pty Limited and affiliates on 28 February 2023, and the business took the name FUJIFILM MicroChannel Services from 1 March. At the time it had around 200 staff and offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Auckland and Singapore. Founder and managing director Harach Lucas called it a historic milestone and moved to senior executive advisor; Brett Matthews took over as CEO.

MicroChannel has been in business since 1995 and is an ERP implementer first — Microsoft, SAP and Sage all rate it among the top providers in the region, and it says it has won over 100 awards. That shapes what you actually get: serious implementation capability and a parent company with deep pockets, from a partner whose day job is ERP rather than small-shop tills. Two questions worth asking before you commit: how many LS One sites they currently run in Australia, and which release you would be going on, since LS Retail's own material puts the last major LS One release in February 2022.
