MandalayCS is a point-of-sale system for professional services, built by Mandalay Technologies. Brisbane-built weighbridge and tip-shop software that over a hundred Australian councils run — and an Irish group bought it in 2025.
Certified on Linkly, running on premise. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.
The Linkly integration runs on premise.
Mandalay Technologies started as a weighbridge software company and grew into the leading provider of software and data management for Australia's waste and resource recovery industry. It runs out of West End in Brisbane, and its two product lines are the Facility suite — vehicle tracking, transaction capture, point-of-sale payments, hardware interfaces and reporting at landfills, transfer stations and quarries — and a Residents suite that manages councils' household waste entitlements. Simon Kalinowski bought the business and turned it around, telling Business News Australia in 2010 that it was then serving over 350 clients across Australia, New Zealand and South Africa after a $4 million cumulative loss.
AMCS, the Irish-headquartered waste and recycling software group, announced the acquisition from Sydney on 1 May 2025. The deal release put Mandalay at over 120 customers in Australia including more than 100 local governments, over 500 facilities transacting through its point-of-sale software, and 650,000 households accessing waste entitlements through the Residents product. It now trades as AMCS Mandalay: 116 local governments, 458 facilities, 42 commercial customers across 125 more, and 550-plus facilities on the POS software.
This is a genuinely unusual EFTPOS integration. The till at a council transfer station is taking card payments at a weighbridge, often outdoors, often with a truck on the scale — a different problem from a cafe counter. If you are a council or a commercial waste operator comparing terminals, make sure the quote accounts for the environment and not just the transaction count.
