Marlin GTX is a point-of-sale system for auto mechanics and services, built by Megabus. Tyre and automotive distribution software out of Melbourne, owned by Constellation Software since 2015.

It is certified on all three middleware layers that matter here — Linkly, mx51 and Tyro. Eighteen of the 1,127 systems on this site manage that, which leaves your choice of bank about as open as it gets.

Certified to do phone and mail order and surcharging. Tyro rates it a Plus partner.

The Linkly integration runs on premise. The mx51 integration uses Spice and was last certified in January 2021, on Windows.

Megabus is a Melbourne enterprise software company and the Marlin suite is its product: supply chain management, inventory control, wholesale and retail distribution, point of sale, e-commerce, financial control and business intelligence. It is built for the tyre and automotive services sector specifically — not car dealerships, but the tyre and parts distribution trade.

Vela Software, a division of Constellation Software (TSX: CSU), acquired Megabus on 2 June 2015 through its Friedman subsidiary. Constellation buys vertical software companies and holds them, so the brand persists while the ownership sits in Toronto.

The POS here is one module of a distribution system, which is the thing to understand before comparing it on price with a retail till. You are buying the wholesale and inventory engine; the counter is the part customers see.
