Matrix Point of Sale POS — bank compatibility

Matrix Point of Sale is a point-of-sale system for retail, built by POS Active. Running since 2001 out of Mount Eliza on the Mornington Peninsula, and still a retail specialist rather than a hospitality one.
Certified on Linkly, running on premise. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.
The Linkly integration runs on premise.
POSActive has been selling retail management software in Australia since 2001 — the copyright line on its own site runs 2001 to 2025, which for a single-product software company is a long time to still be standing. It operates out of Mount Eliza on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula, with a Melbourne landline and a PO box rather than a showroom, which tells you roughly what size of operation you are dealing with.
The product is retail, not hospitality, and the pitch is depth rather than polish: stock management, pricing, customer marketing and reporting, plus a separate HeadOffice module for chains that the company says it built more than ten years ago and which can drive up to 99 stores from one back office. There is also LapStock, a laptop-based stocktaking tool — the kind of thing you only build when your customers are counting their own shelves.
On payments it is a Zeller integrated partner as well as being certified on the Tyro side, so a POSActive merchant is not locked to a single acquirer. Worth knowing if you are quoting against whoever is already in there.

A POS reaches a bank through middleware. Each card below is one certified route; the banks it reaches are on the middleware page.
