Mediclinic is practice-management software for allied health and health. Australian-hosted cloud for podiatry and physio, and you only pay for the people who actually bill.
Tyro only. Tyro is its own middleware and its own acquirer, so this one comes with the bank attached — moving bank means a new integration.
It handles HealthPoint private health claiming. Tyro rates it a Power Up partner.
Mediclinic is cloud practice management, data processing and hosting for medical professionals, with the data stored in Australia. Capterra puts the vendor's founding at 2007. It targets medical and allied health practices — podiatry, chiropody and physiotherapy are the ones it names — and runs on desktop, tablet and phone.
The pricing model is the unusual part and worth putting in front of your practice manager: from about $25, and only practitioners who earn income are charged. Admin and account users are free. For a clinic carrying a reception team that is a meaningfully different bill to per-seat pricing. There is a free version and a free trial. Claiming is split between the software and the terminal — DVA and Medicare online claiming run through Mediclinic itself, while private health and health fund claims go through the Tyro integration, which covers integrated purchases, receipts, refunds and private health claims. There is also an EZIDEBIT payment gateway and patient online booking built in.
The review sample is tiny — 4.6/5 from five reviews on Capterra, dated 2019 to 2022 — but it is consistent on one point: the vendor customises. Bec praised "their ability and willingness to listen and change the software to meet our individual needs." The flipside, also from reviewers: the Mac and Windows versions behave differently, and a patient cannot hold multiple insurance cards for different injuries at once. That last one is a real constraint if you do a lot of workers comp.
Health claiming at the terminal
Certified through Tyro for Tyro HealthPoint. Tyro is its own acquirer, so claiming through the terminal means banking with Tyro.
Connected through
A POS reaches a bank through middleware. Each card below is one certified route; the banks it reaches are on the middleware page.
