MediFlex — practice software and bank compatibility

MediFlex is practice-management software for health and medical specialists. A Geelong West outfit that has been writing software for the medical profession for over 34 years — and not to be confused with the glove supplier of the same name.

Tyro only. Tyro is its own middleware and its own acquirer, so this one comes with the bank attached — moving bank means a new integration.

The integration covers split bills and multi-merchant. Tyro rates it a Power Up partner.

Mediflex Pty Ltd runs out of 1 Villamanta Street, Geelong West in Victoria, and says it has been supplying practice management and clinical software to the medical profession for over 34 years. That makes it one of the older independents still standing in a market where most of the comparable names have been absorbed into larger groups. Two products: the MediFlex Practice Management System and MediFlex Clinical. Tyro Health files it under specialist.

The integration detail worth noticing is multi-merchant. One terminal splitting takings across separate merchant accounts is exactly what a consulting suite needs when several specialists bill under their own provider numbers and want their own settlement — it is a genuine pain point and not every system handles it. Split payments are supported too. What the Tyro Health listing does not show against Mediflex is Medicare Easyclaim or HealthPoint claiming, so establish how claiming works in your configuration rather than assuming it happens at the desk.

Housekeeping, because it will cost you time otherwise: search the name and you will also land on a Sydney medical consumables business selling gloves, gowns and dressings as Mediflex. Different company, no relationship to the software.
