Medilink is practice-management software for allied health, health, primary health and medical specialists. Advanced Professional Systems have been selling into Australian practices since 1989, and the pricing model is as old-school as the vintage suggests.
Tyro only. Tyro is its own middleware and its own acquirer, so this one comes with the bank attached — moving bank means a new integration.
It handles Medicare Easyclaim and multi-merchant. Tyro rates it a Plus partner.
Medilink comes from Advanced Professional Systems, an Australian company that has been supplying health professionals since 1989. It covers appointment scheduling, billing, document management, reminders, letter templates, patient tracking and e-prescriptions, and it is sold across a wide range — specialists, hospital departments, GPs and allied health, from single rooms up to large multi-site organisations. Specialist practices are where you see it most.
Worth noting how it is priced, because it is unusual now: the listed entry point is around $950 per user, charged per seat rather than as a low monthly subscription. That is a capital-style purchase in a market that has largely moved to per-month cloud billing, and it changes the maths — cheaper over five years if you stay put, more painful if the practice grows or you want out early.
On claiming, check the detail against how you bill. The Tyro certification covers Medicare Easyclaim for part paid and patient paid, plus multi-merchant — but not bulk bill, and Tyro HealthPoint is not in the set. If you bulk bill at volume or take health fund rebates at the counter, that gap is worth raising with APS directly before you build a workflow around it.
Health claiming at the terminal
Certified through Tyro for Medicare Easyclaim — part paid, Medicare Easyclaim — patient paid. Tyro is its own acquirer, so claiming through the terminal means banking with Tyro.
Connected through
A POS reaches a bank through middleware. Each card below is one certified route; the banks it reaches are on the middleware page.
