Merchant Mate POS — bank compatibility

Merchant Mate POS is a point-of-sale system for retail, built by Merchant Mate. Hospitality-first, and it leans on an outside platform for online ordering rather than building its own.

Certified on Linkly, running in the cloud. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.

The Linkly integration runs in the cloud.

MerchantMate is a hospitality point-of-sale system aimed at restaurants, cafés, food trucks, kiosks, bars and hotels, and the feature list is broad for a vendor this quiet: inventory, loyalty, email and SMS marketing, table management with a layout editor, staffing, appointments and reservations, modifiers, split orders and split payments, kitchen display screens, digital tickets, customisable discounts and advanced reporting.

Two details matter more than the feature list. It integrates with Xero and QuickBooks, so the bookkeeping is handled rather than exported — usually the thing that actually decides a café owner. And the online ordering, QR table ordering, pickup, delivery and reservations run through Olarme.com rather than a module of its own, which means the ordering experience your merchant's customers see belongs to a third party and can change independently of the till.

It is a Zeller integrated partner. The appointments and reservations sitting in the same system suggest it is also being sold outside pure food service, which is worth checking before you assume a hospitality rate card applies.
