Mobile POS — bank compatibility

Mobile POS is a point-of-sale system for general retail and retail. A generic name hiding a company that was on the ASX and is now owned by Constellation Software.

Tyro only. Tyro is its own middleware and its own acquirer, so this one comes with the bank attached — moving bank means a new integration.

Tyro rates it a Plus partner.

Tyro lists the vendor behind Mobile POS as 3Q Holdings Limited and points at islandpacific.com. 3Q is a real and long-running Australian company — an Australian public company with an ABN active since 1 January 2000, registered in Sydney — and its business-name history reads as a tour of its own rebrands: AdvanceRetail Technology from 2007, AdvanceRetail from 2011, 3Q Holdings as a trading name from 2007, and Intelligent Retail from 2018. It traded on the ASX as TQH, and in May 2013 it bought the UK-based Intelligent Retail Connect multichannel retail platform, which then chairman Shaun Rosen said complemented the company's Island Pacific omni-channel and mobile solutions.

It is now owned by Constellation Software, through its Vela Asia Pacific operating group — 3Q's own site says so. Intelligent Retail was founded in 2004 and around 600 retailers in the UK and Ireland run Connect. One gap worth being straight about: nothing published names a product called Mobile POS or ties that name to Island Pacific, and Tyro's own listing URL for it carries a tba. The company facts are solid, the product label is Tyro's. Ask which codebase you are actually being quoted.
