MunchMonitor POS is a point-of-sale system for education, built by Countrywide Australasia. The school canteen system owned by a $300 million foodservice buying group, not by a software startup.

Certified on Linkly, running in the cloud. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.

The Linkly integration runs in the cloud.

MunchMonitor is a registered business name of Countrywide Australasia Limited, ABN 34 068 162 676, held since 20 December 2012 — which settles the ownership question: it is still Countrywide's and was not sold on. Both app stores list Countrywide Australasia Limited as developer and seller. Countrywide itself is a co-operative of independently owned foodservice distributors, launched in January 1996 after its first national conference in Queensland in September 1995, uniting around 100 independent businesses. It is an unlisted Australian public company owned by its distributor members rather than outside investors, based at Parramatta, with CEO Jeff Dhu, serving more than 80,000 foodservice outlets nationally including education, and revenue of about $300.8 million for 2025 on IBISWorld's figures. It marked 30 years in 2025 and topped the Advantage Foodservice Program distributor rankings four years running from 2022 to 2025.

The product is parent-facing school canteen ordering and payment: register, add students, order up to four weeks ahead, order for several children at once, set daily and weekly allowances, ban specific menu items, and flag allergies to canteen staff. It charges a flat family account fee per school term rather than a per-order or per-transaction fee, and runs on a prepaid account balance; MunchMonitor states it does not hold card details and is PCI compliant through NAB. Scope has widened beyond the canteen, with the current apps covering uniforms and event fees too. On Linkly's accredited vendor register it is listed as MunchMonitor POS at Core Payments — basic purchase and refund integration rather than extended features. Schools publishing MunchMonitor instructions span NSW, Queensland, Victoria and South Australia across government, Catholic and independent sectors, though no school count is published anywhere and Countrywide's own corporate site never mentions the product.
