MYOB RETAILMANAGER is a point-of-sale system for fashion and apparel, general retail, gifts and homeware and retail, and 2 more, built by AAAPOS. MYOB doesn't own this any more. It was handed to AAAPOS in 2022 and most retailers running it have no idea.

Tyro is its own middleware and its own acquirer, so this route comes with the bank attached. But the same product is also listed under another name, certified on other middleware, so the bank is not fixed. Check which build you are on.

This is the single most important thing to know about RetailManager: MYOB transferred ownership of it to AAAPOS so MYOB could concentrate on cloud products. Since mid-2022, AAAPOS has handled development, support, renewals and billing. MYOB's own community moderators now tell RetailManager users to contact AAAPOS rather than MYOB. If you are still phoning MYOB about your till, you are phoning a company that sold it.

AAAPOS is based in Banyule, Victoria, and sells the product as "AAAPOS RetailManager (formerly MYOB RetailManager)" with 7-day Australian-based support and a claim of 25+ years in retail. It is a perpetual licence: v12.5 outright is listed at $1,995, with v14 upgrades available. Add-ons include RM-Mobile, Webstore Manager and RM-MultiStore, plus a CRM called youGROW. Setup, hardware and training go through a network called RetailManager Professionals.

Competing vendors have spent years running "MYOB RetailManager alternative" pages at this installed base, which tells you how large and how unsettled it is. The practical questions for anyone on it: what version are you actually running, is your licence current with AAAPOS rather than MYOB, and what does the move to v14 cost. Treat any support arrangement you think you have with MYOB as expired, because it is.
