Neko is a point-of-sale system for hair and beauty and services. Australian rather than Kiwi, and it quietly stopped being salon software and became pet grooming software.

Tyro only. Tyro is its own middleware and its own acquirer, so this one comes with the bank attached — moving bank means a new integration.

The vendor behind Neko is Kronos Business Solutions Pty Ltd, ABN 91 158 318 346, main business location NSW 2010 in Surry Hills, active since 21 May 2012 and GST-registered since that June. Same entity name throughout its whole ABN history, no renames, no acquisition. Capterra and GetApp both give a 2004 founding out of Surry Hills, but that is vendor-supplied directory data -- the registry only goes back to 2012, and the Neko Software business name to 2016. The company also moved from NSW 2194 to Surry Hills in March 2020.

There are two repositionings on the public record, both under one unchanged owner. The company first registered "Konnect Spa & Salon Software" in May 2014, then "Neko Software" in May 2016, so Konnect came first and Neko replaced it. Then the category itself moved: getneko.com now trades as Neko Grooming Software, offers only Pet Grooming Salon and Mobile Groomer business types, and carries no human salon or spa product at all. Tyro's partner page still describes it as spa and salon software, and the LinkedIn URL on the current site still carries the slug neko-salon-software. If you are a hairdresser reading a directory listing, that is the gap to know about.

Pricing is small-business end: Capterra has it at A$39 a month flat for a solo operator, $35 per bookable staff member per month for teams of two to ten, and contact-us above that, with a 14-day trial. Tyro integration covers purchases, receipts and tipping. The reviews all date from the salon era between 2017 and 2020 and they are consistent about what it was for. Shelley, April 2020: "Great value for money for a micro business". Travis, 2018: "Absolute value for money, easy to operate with fantastic puntual support". Jordan, 2017, less happy: it "doesnt notify you when running out of credit therefore stops sending reminder texts".
