NeoPOS is a point-of-sale system for butchers and grocers, fashion and apparel, general retail and gifts and homeware, and 5 more. Pay once, no subscription, and it keeps trading with the internet down.
Certified on Linkly and on Tyro. Worth knowing the difference: Tyro is its own acquirer, so that route means banking with Tyro. The Linkly route does not.
Certified for split bills and cash out. Tyro rates it a Power Up partner.
The Linkly integration runs on premise.
NeoPOS comes from BEC Systems, an Australian developer going since 1992, and it is sold on a model almost nobody in this market uses any more: a one-off purchase that includes a full lifetime licence with no ongoing licence or subscription fees, starting around $180. Against per-terminal monthly SaaS, that changes the arithmetic completely over five years, and it is the actual reason people buy it.
The second reason is that it does not need to be online. The resellers are blunt about it — NeoPOS does not require a permanent internet connection, with a cloud hybrid mode available on top if you want remote reporting. For a site on a flaky line, a till that keeps trading when the connection drops is worth more than a slicker app.
It is sold through dealers rather than direct, usually bundled with hardware, which means your experience depends heavily on which dealer you buy from — they install it and they answer the phone. The venues in their own photos are kebab shops, florists, butchers, cafes, nightclubs and grocers, which is a fair picture of where it lands. Review coverage is close to nil, so get references from the dealer, not the vendor.
