Nookal is practice-management software for allied health and health. Built in 2010 by three people who worked in allied health, and it still shows in what the software bothers to do well.

Tyro only. Tyro is its own middleware and its own acquirer, so this one comes with the bank attached — moving bank means a new integration.

Certified for HealthPoint private health claiming, Medicare bulk billing, Medicare Easyclaim and multi-merchant. Tyro rates it a Plus partner.

Nookal is cloud practice management for allied health, founded in 2010 by what the company calls a trio of allied health industry experts. Scheduling, clinical notes, case management, invoicing and reporting, aimed at physios, psychologists, osteos, chiros, speech pathologists and podiatrists. It runs well beyond Australia — separate sites for Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, the UK and the US — and carries SOC 2 Type 2, HIPAA, GDPR and Australian Privacy Act compliance badges, which is more security paperwork than most practice software in this bracket bothers with.

On claiming it is one of the stronger ones. The Tyro certification covers the full Medicare Easyclaim set — bulk bill, part paid and patient paid — plus Tyro HealthPoint and multi-merchant. If you are comparing it against Halaxy, that Easyclaim coverage is the difference that actually matters at the front desk: Halaxy does not have it.

Practical note: multi-merchant means a multi-site practice can split takings by entity through one system. Worth naming in the quote rather than assuming, because it is the feature people discover they needed after the second clinic opens.

Health claiming at the terminal

Certified through Tyro for Medicare Easyclaim — bulk bill, Medicare Easyclaim — part paid, Medicare Easyclaim — patient paid, Tyro HealthPoint. Tyro is its own acquirer, so claiming through the terminal means banking with Tyro.
