Ontempo Store is a point-of-sale system for retail, built by Ontempo NZ. A New Zealand specialist in multi-branch apparel — and the logo wall is basically the Kiwi fashion high street.

Certified on both Linkly and mx51, which between them cover most of the acquiring market.

Certified for tipping, cash out, one till driving several terminals and surcharging.

The Linkly integration runs on premise. The mx51 integration uses SPI .NET and was last certified in November 2019, on Windows.

Ontempo builds omnichannel retail systems out of Kumeu, west of Auckland. Ontempo Store is the till; Ontempo Retail is the management and CRM layer behind it; Ontempo Warehouse handles wireless picking and courier integration. The three are designed to work as one, which is the whole pitch — click-and-collect and ship-from-store need the store, the head office and the warehouse to agree on stock in real time.

The niche is multi-branch apparel, and the customer list makes that concrete: Hallensteins, Glassons, Hannah's, Number One Shoes, Postie, Max, Merchant 1948, Mi Piaci, Barkers, Working Style, Pagani, Moochi, Red Rat, North Beach, Nature Baby, Wallace Cotton, Ballantyne's and Kings Plant Barn, among more than twenty brands. Hallensteins Glassons CIO Chris Reid's line on their site — "Ontempo lets us innovate at the pace of fast fashion" — is marketing, but the reference itself is real. If you are a single-store retailer this is almost certainly more system than you need.
