Openbravo Commerce POS — bank compatibility

Openbravo Commerce is a point-of-sale system for retail, built by Enterprise Intelligence Systems. The retail half of a Spanish open-source ERP, sold in Australia through resellers and renamed by its French owner.

Certified on Linkly, running on premise. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.

The Linkly integration runs on premise.

Openbravo began as Tecnicia, founded in Pamplona, Spain in August 2001 on software written by Nicolas Serrano and Ismael Ciordia, and took the Openbravo name in 2006 — the same year it open-sourced its ERP code. It launched Openbravo for Retail in July 2012 and in May 2015 announced that retail was now the whole strategy. It is one of the few genuinely open-source-derived platforms in this directory.

The brand has moved twice. Openbravo joined the French group DL Software in November 2022, and in October 2023 became Orisha | Openbravo when DL rebranded as Orisha. openbravo.com now redirects to orisha.com. Orisha Commerce, the division it sits in, reports 20,000-plus brand and retailer clients, 15 offices, 700 staff and a presence in more than 100 countries; the parent group reported EUR350 million of revenue in 2025 across 2,300-plus employees. Named retail customers include Decathlon, Norauto, SMCP, Sharaf DG and Toys 'R' Us Iberia.

Australia was a deliberate push back in May 2012, when Openbravo released a localised Australian version with three local partners and 15 Australian commercial users — among them ANZ Lighting, Bathroom Warehouse and four Office National franchisees. That is a long time ago in software years, and the current local partner position is not something the vendor publishes. Worth confirming who supports you here before you compare it against a locally built alternative.
