Osipos — bank compatibility

Osipos is a point-of-sale system for general retail and retail. Traces back to a stock-control program written for Commodore PETs in Adelaide in 1983, which makes it one of the oldest retail systems still being sold here.
Certified on mx51 and on Tyro. Worth knowing the difference: Tyro is its own acquirer, so that route means banking with Tyro. The mx51 route does not.
It handles phone and mail order and surcharging.
The mx51 integration uses Spice and was last certified in November 2022, on Windows.
Osipos began in Adelaide in 1983 when Greg Barber wrote a stock control program that ran on Commodore PET computers. The company is now based in Perth and says it is 100% owned and operated locally, with representatives across several states. Forty-odd years in and still independent is unusual in this market, where most of the long-running names have been bought by a group.
It is a retail system rather than a hospitality one: inventory control, multistore stock sync to a head office, customer loyalty, Android-based stocktaking, integrated EFTPOS, and an online store bridge they call Shop Sync. The claimed customer base is "hundreds of local Aussies" rather than a published number, spanning small family shops up to multi-site operations with a head office. Support is sold contractually or pay-by-call, so factor that in — a cheap licence with per-call support can cost more than a subscription once something breaks.
