Pearl2 POS — bank compatibility

Pearl2 is a point-of-sale system for retail, built by Willie Creek Pearls. A Broome pearl farm and tourism operator, three generations of one family deep — and not a software company in any sense.
Certified on Linkly, running on premise. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.
The Linkly integration runs on premise.
The Banfield family's Broome story starts in 1989, when Valda and Don Banfield moved up from a farm at Tincurrin near Narrogin to run Broome Buslines, an airport transfer service. Don died of a heart attack in Broome at 51, leaving Valda with four children. Broome Buslines, formed with Lord McAlpine, began running coaches out to the pearl farm, and in 1994 the family took over running the farm tours from the previous operators. They acquired the farm land lease and two units of shell quota in 2005, and after the GFC picked up a 15-unit quota and a commercial pearling licence. Robert Banfield is chairman; Paul Birch is CEO.
It is vertically integrated in a way that is genuinely unusual. It farms Pinctada maxima South Sea pearls at Willie Creek about 38km north of Broome, designs and makes the jewellery on site, sells through its own showrooms, and runs the tourism — farm tours, Pearl Luggers tours, harvest experiences and scenic helicopter flights. Seven showrooms by the company's own count: Willie Creek, Cable Beach and Chinatown in Broome, and Hillarys Boardwalk, Subiaco, Elizabeth Quay and Cottesloe in Perth, though a business-press profile says six. It also owns Pearl Luggers, the Old Zoo Cafe, the Cable Beach office complex, event venues and a tour fleet, and holds an investment in Marine Biomedical, which makes a medical device out of pearl oyster nacre. It took national gold at the 2022 Australian Tourism Awards and went into the WA Tourism Awards Hall of Fame in 2023.
For the purposes of this directory, 'Pearl2' is the retailer's own system rather than a product anyone sells. No founding year should be quoted for the business either — their own About page says thirty years in one place and over thirty-five in another.
