Penny Lane is a point-of-sale system for pharmacy retail and retail, built by Simple Retail. A pharmacy-only shop, and the till is sold alongside their own dispensing software rather than on its own.

Certified on Linkly and on Tyro. Worth knowing the difference: Tyro is its own acquirer, so that route means banking with Tyro. The Linkly route does not.

Certified to do split bills and cash out. Tyro rates it a Power Up partner.

The Linkly integration runs on premise.

PennyLane POS comes from Simple Retail Pty Ltd, an Australian pharmacy software house that calls itself one of the country's leading pharmacy software providers. They do two things and sell them as a pair: PennyLane on the counter and Aquarius Dispense in the dispensary, aimed at independent and multi-store pharmacies. Aquarius hooks into MediSecure and eRx for scripts and carries integrated SMS and email messaging. There is also a free Android stock-taking app thrown in.

Worth knowing what is not on this record. The Tyro integration does cashout, purchases, receipts, refunds and split payments, but Medicare Easyclaim and HealthPoint are not listed against it. If you claim at the counter, put that question to them directly before you sign, because a pharmacy POS without claiming is a narrower product than it first looks.
