Pet Manager POS — bank compatibility

Pet Manager is a point-of-sale system for retail and retail veterinary. Boarding kennels and pet resorts, not vet clinics — worth getting straight before you go looking at it.

Tyro only. Tyro is its own middleware and its own acquirer, so this one comes with the bank attached — moving bank means a new integration.

Pet Manager comes from OJ Networks Pty Ltd and was, in its own words, born out of a real-world need in 2015. It runs pet resorts rather than veterinary practices: boarding, dog daycare, training, grooming, hydrotherapy, dog walking, dog park and in-home pet care, each as its own module, with customer and pet CRM, bookings, financials, email and SMS and an online customer portal behind them. Retail and POS is an add-on rather than the core, as is the Xero link. Prices are in Australian dollars and the support line is a Queensland number, with support also offered into New Zealand and the UK.

The distinction matters when you are comparing quotes. A boarding facility's problem is occupancy across runs and dates, vaccination records, and a pickup desk that takes payment for a nine-day stay plus a bath plus a bag of food. A vet system solves none of that, and a general retail POS solves only the last bit. Named customers on their own site include Canine Clubhouse.

Commercially it is subscription with every module available at any plan level, a 30-day trial with no card up front, and a free data import they value at $220 — which tells you they expect to be taking customers off an incumbent system. Tyro certification covers integrated purchases and refunds.
