POS A3 — bank compatibility

POS A3 is a point-of-sale system for hospitality, built by MSL Solutions. MSL Solutions does not exist any more — Pemba Capital took it private in 2023 and the whole thing is Oolio now.

Certified on Linkly, running on premise. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.

The Linkly integration runs on premise.

MSL Solutions listed on the ASX in May 2017, raising $15 million, and grew by buying: InfoGenesis Australia in February 2016, Verteda in the UK and GolfBox in Denmark later that year, SwiftPOS in November 2020 and OrderMate in October 2021 for A$7.5 million. SwiftPOS alone took it from 1,220 venues to more than 5,000 overnight; after OrderMate it was past 8,000 venues and more than A$7 billion a year in transaction value. Its real strength was never general hospitality, though. It was golf and member clubs — at listing, over 1,200 golf clubs across Australasia and Europe ran MPower Golf.

Pemba Capital Partners bid in November 2022 at 29.5 cents a share, valuing the company at close to A$120 million and an 80.7% premium to the one-month average price. The scheme completed and MSL came off the ASX on 20 February 2023. Today mslsolutions.com redirects to swiftpos.com.au, and SwiftPOS is one of five POS brands inside Oolio alongside Bepoz, Deliverit, Idealpos and Ordermate. Oolio claims 22,000-plus venues, 300-plus partners and 600-plus staff across seven countries.

One quirk worth knowing if you are chasing support: when MSL could not get bank funding for the SwiftPOS purchase, Export Finance Australia financed about half the cost. That is not a detail you often see on a POS vendor.
