POS Forge is a point-of-sale system for hospitality, retail and wholesale, built by DataForge. an Auckland AI consultancy's own POS product, priced in US dollars.
Certified on mx51, which is the engine behind several banks’ own terminal offerings rather than something a merchant buys by name.
The mx51 integration uses SPI JavaScript and was last certified in February 2025, on Browser.
POS Forge belongs to DataForge Limited, a New Zealand software and AI consultancy at Hobsonville in Auckland (NZBN 9429052230226), founded by Dwayne Baird. POS Forge is one of several products it builds and runs — the others being ForgeBox, DataForge AI, ModusVox, TalentRoom and TapTag — and the company says it serves businesses in New Zealand and Australia. The footer on the product site credits "POS Forge by DataForge Ltd" outright.
The product runs on phones, tablets, PCs and kiosks, with AI order correction, kitchen display, self-serve kiosks and online ordering. Plans are USD$49 to $159 a month with a 30-day trial. That US dollar pricing is worth noticing if you are an Australian merchant: you will be carrying the exchange rate, and there is no Australian entity, ABN or Australian customer on record anywhere we looked.
One housekeeping note on this dataset: there are two vendor records here, DataForge and POS Forge, with the same product. They are one business. The accreditation register simply lists the product name in the vendor field, which is where the duplicate comes from. No founding date, customer count or review exists for the POS product itself.
