POS2 POS — bank compatibility

POS2 is a point-of-sale system for retail, built by Steinhoff Asia Pacific / Freedom. Not a POS anyone sells — it is a furniture retailer's own till, and the retailer behind the name has changed hands three times since.
Certified on Linkly, running on premise. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.
The Linkly integration runs on premise.
Nothing in the public record shows Steinhoff Asia Pacific ever selling POS software to other merchants. This is a retailer's in-house system, and the vendor name attached to it is badly out of date. Steinhoff Asia Pacific was the Australian and New Zealand arm of Steinhoff International — Freedom Furniture, Fantastic Furniture, Best & Less, Snooze and POCO, around 10,000 staff. It renamed itself Greenlit Brands on 27 September 2018.
The reason for the rename is one of the biggest accounting scandals in retail. Steinhoff International's CEO Markus Jooste resigned on 5 December 2017 after the supervisory board flagged accounting irregularities and appointed PwC to investigate. The shares lost more than half their value the next day and almost 90% within a fortnight. PwC's March 2019 summary found a small group of executives had booked more than €6.5 billion of fictitious or irregular income between 2009 and 2017. Steinhoff was liquidated on 13 October 2023 under an Amsterdam court restructuring, with shares cancelled and no payment to holders.
The Australian brands have all moved on too. Freedom Furniture was sold in June 2025 to Amart, backed by Quadrant Private Equity — Freedom at about 60 stores, Amart at 66, roughly A$1 billion in combined sales. Fantastic Furniture went to Allegro Funds, completing on 4 May 2026 across its 86-store network, which took Greenlit Brands out of Australian retail entirely. If a directory still lists a till against "Steinhoff Asia Pacific", three separate owners have come and gone since that was accurate.

A POS reaches a bank through middleware. Each card below is one certified route; the banks it reaches are on the middleware page.
